    A person's been taken into custody in Wellington after reports of a firearm being spotted at a Te Aro building

    10 September 2025
    Cordons were put in place as police tried to engage with a person inside the Webb Street building for about five hours.

    Armed police were in attendance for any potential firearms incident.

    The person was taken into custody at 6:15 without incident.

    Police will remain at the building this evening to carry out enquiries.
