Black Caps coach Rob Walter has described managing players workloads in the current cricketing landscape as the biggest challenge facing the international game

Black Caps coach Rob Walter has described managing players workloads in the current cricketing landscape as the biggest challenge facing the international game

    26 August 2025
That declaration comes amid news four of his front-line players have been ruled out of October's white ball home series against Australia due to injury.

Will O'Rourke's the greatest concern - the latest in a long line of fast bowlers to suffer a stress fracture in his back.

Walter says he's keen to sit down with every player and get the balance right between international commitments, franchise T-20 leagues, and rest.

O'Rourke played internationally during the home summer, before IPL and county commitments in England.
