The Government has agreed to invest in aquaculture investments

The Government has agreed to invest in aquaculture investments

    3 March 2025
It will put in around 11-point-seven-million dollars over five years, to increase production and drive up exports of salmon.

It's estimating the extra support will create an extra 500-million-dollars of exports by 2035.

Agriculture Minister Todd McClay says the project will drive innovation, get a better return for the product and produce more high paying jobs.

Oceans and Fisheries Minister Shane Jones says the farms will increase our capacity for farmed salmon, by 40-thousand tonnes per year.
