Labour leader Chris Hipkins has outlined his vision to 2040 to party faithful in Auckland

Labour leader Chris Hipkins has outlined his vision to 2040 to party faithful in Auckland

    18 May 2024
In his speech, he envisioned returning to power in 2026, and then spending the next decade building the country that New Zealand can be.

Hipkins says that includes building a strong economy, boosting education and healthcare, and a boom in new housing construction.

But he says to get there, we need to be making those decisions now.

Hipkins says we need to be investing in infrastructure and people, and making big decisions now around climate change, which will pay dividends further down the track.
