Putting houses in the right place - is the goal of zoning rule changes in Auckland

Putting houses in the right place - is the goal of zoning rule changes in Auckland

    19 August 2025
Councillors will debate the proposal on Thursday - to allow 10-to-15 storey developments near town centres and transport stations.

It'll also make it harder to build three-storey developments on certain sections.

BusinessDesk journalist, Garth Bray, says it'll allow a real build-up in some areas.

He says houses will go up near the new City Rail Link, expected to open next year.
