Christchurch's new stadium is entering the homestretch

Christchurch's new stadium is entering the homestretch

    20 August 2025
Many parts of Te Kaha are complete, including the players' facilities on the ground floor of the west stand.

The façade, which is made up of 800 metres of steel sheeting, and more than a thousand panes of glass, is only weeks away from being finished.

Council Project Director Kent Summerfield says work on installing the roof cladding is on track to be done next month.

He says the roof will keep the stadium around two to four degrees warmer than outside, and also keep the rain at bay.
