Five Canterbury liquor stores are closing because of worker exploitation

Five Canterbury liquor stores are closing because of worker exploitation

    27 September 2021
Nekita Enterprises Limited has been judged unsuitable to hold a liquor licence.

Last year Super Liquor Holdings terminated its contract with the company after allegations of staff exploitation.

Months later, the Employment Relations Authority ordered the company to pay 125-thousand dollars in penalties.

It's after finding the company avoided paying four employees the minimum wage - and had not kept accurate employment records.
