    Maintenance tender for Lisbon's 140yo cable cars scrapped over price just days before deadly crash

    A maintenance tender for the 140-year-old funicular that crashed in Lisbon on Wednesday, killing 17 people, was cancelled earlier this week because the bids were too expensive.
