Gisborne and Hawke's Bay
Partly cloudy with scattered showers. Thunderstorms possible about the Gisborne ranges this afternoon.
Kapiti, Wellington and Wairarapa
Periods of rain, easing to a few showers tonight.
Nelson, Buller, Marlborough and Canterbury
Occasional rain spreading north today, easing to isolated showers tomorrow evening.
Grey, Westland and Fiordland
Partly cloudy with isolated showers.
Otago and Southland
Periods of rain with some heavy falls, easing tomorrow afternoon. Gale southwesterlies, especially about the coast, also easing tomorrow afternoon.
Chatham Islands
