    Raukumara to Kaweka ranges
    Mostly cloudy with a few showers.

    Egmont and Tongariro National Parks
    Fine.

    Ruahine and Tararua ranges
    Fine, apart from areas of morning and evening cloud.

    Winds
    Southeasterlies, strong north of Kaweka Forest Park, gradually easing.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    Above 3500 metres.


    south island


    The Kaikoura ranges, Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks, and the Southern

    Alps
    Mainly fine. A few cloudy areas this morning and evening.

    Fiordland
    Mostly cloudy with occasional rain.

    Winds
    West to northwest winds south of Mt Cook, strong in Fiordland. Light winds
    elsewhere.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    3500 metres sloping to 3000 metres in the far south.
