    north island



    Raukumara to Ruahine ranges, also Te Papa-Kura-o-Taranaki and Tongariro National Park
    Cloudy periods and a few showers.

    Ruahine and Tararua Forest Park
    Cloudy periods.

    WINDS
    Northeasterlies, rising to gale northerlies this morning.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 2100 metres.


    south island



    Nelson Lakes National Park to the Kaikoura ranges, including Mt Richmond
    Cloud increasing this morning and showers developing, becoming more persistent in the evening.

    Kahurangi National Park to the Southern Alps
    Cloud increasing. Showers in the south spreading elsewhere this morning, then turning to rain with heavy falls from afternoon. Snow possible to 1400 metres in the south.

    Mount Aspiring and Fiordland
    Occasional rain, heavy at times with snow above 1200 metres.

    WINDS
    Northerlies, gale or severe gale in exposed places.

    FREEZING LEVEL
    About 2000 metres, lowering to 1400 metres in Fiordland this evening.
