    Raukumara to Kaweka Forest Park
    Isolated showers, turning to rain for a time this morning with possible thunderstorms about the Raukumara Forest Park.

    Remaining North Island mountain areas
    Rain with some heavy falls and possible thunderstorms, easing to showers this morning and clearing from Tararuas.

    Gale to severe gales westerlies.

    2800 metres sloping to 2400 metres in the south. Lowering to 2000 metres in the north and 1500 metres in the south this afternoon.

    Kaikoura ranges
    Periods of rain clearing this morning.

    Kahurangi and Nelson Lakes National Parks
    Periods of rain with some heavy falls and snow to 1000 metres.

    The Southern Alps
    Periods of rain with heavy falls and possible thunderstorms. Snow lowering to 600 metres for a time this morning.

    Periods of snow with heavy falls and possible thunderstorms. Turning to showers this afternoon and snow lifting to 1000 metres.

    Gale to severe gale westerlies.

    1800 metres in the north, sloping to 800 metres in the south. Lowering to 1200 metres in the west this morning.
