Otago and Southland A few showers about Foveaux Strait, otherwise mainly fine apart from some areas of cloud this morning. Chatham Islands Mostly cloudy. Showers late evening. South Island: Rain in the west, spreading elsewhere then clearing in the south. Mainly fine with a few showers in the north. Saturday North Island: Rain for most, heavier in the north, clearing in the west later. A few showers in the south, clearing. South Island: Mainly fine, with a few showers in the west. Rain developing late in Fiordland. Sunday North Island: Rain clearing early in the north and east, becoming mainly fine everywhere. South Island: Rain in the south, and developing in the west. Mainly fine elsewhere. Chatham Islands Mainly fine with strengthening northwesterlies on Friday, then a few showers from evening as winds turn southwest.
