Cloudy periods and isolated showers. Areas of morning fog.
Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa
Taranaki to Wellington, including Taihape
Areas of morning cloud then fine.
Western Marlborough and Nelson
Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, easing evening.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Cloud increasing. Occasional rain south of Hokitika, possibly heavy from afternoon. A few showers further north.
The Kaikoura Coast and eastern Marlborough, and Canterbury
Fine apart from areas of coastal cloud in the morning.
Otago and Southland
Becoming cloudy. Scattered rain developing in the morning west of Gore, spreading elsewhere in the evening.
Cloudy with occasional drizzle.
National Long Range Forecast to 2 August
North Island: Few showers in the north and developing about Gisborne later. Fine elsewhere, with areas of morning cloud clearing. South Island: Rain south of the Glaciers, possibly heavy, and about and south of Otago. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
North Island: Mainly fine with some high cloud, but cloudy periods increasing with a few late showers about and south of Taranaki to Wairarapa. South Island: Partly cloudy. Rain in Westland and Buller easing to a few showers. Morning rain in Fiordland and about south of Otago.
North Island: Partly cloudy. Scattered rain or showers in the west from afternoon or evening. South Island: Rain developing for most from afternoon, but only scattered light falls for Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury.
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower for Saturday and Sunday. Fine breaks on Monday. Winds mainly light.
