The remainder of the North Island Mainly fine. Isolated showers about Wairarapa and Gisborne before dawn. Isolated showers from afternoon, with possible thunderstorms about Gisborne.
Marlborough and Nelson, also Buller, Grey and Westland Cloudy periods and isolated showers.
Canterbury Often cloudy. A few spots of rain this morning.
Fiordland, Southland and Otago Scattered rain clearing before dawn, then fine spells. Cloud increasing and rain developing from afternoon.
Chatham Islands Periods of rain, clearing this afternoon.
