Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel Peninsula, and the central high country,
Showers, heavy at times. Possible thunderstorms with localized downpours.
Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne
Occasional rain, possibly heavy about the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms with possible downpours this morning.
The remainder of the North Island
Fine and cloudy periods, with one or two showers.
Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and Grey
Periods of rain or showers, heavy at times.
Westland and Fiordland
Occasional rain, possibly heavy, clearing this afternoon or evening.
Canterbury
Scattered rain spreading north this morning, possibly heavy this afternoon and evening.
Otago and Southland
Periods of rain, easing to isolated showers from the south this morning, but remaining mostly cloudy.
