The ridge covers most of New Zealand tomorrow, while a front moves onto southern Fiordland at night. The ridge persists over the North Island on Sunday, while the front moves onto the South Island and weakens. On Monday, a trough moves onto central New Zealand from the Tasman Sea, while the ridge remains over northern and southern parts of the country. The trough is expected to move away to the east on Tuesday, with the ridge spreading to cover the country.
