Meanwhile, a trough embedded in a strong northwesterly flow should bring rain to southern New Zealand tomorrow. On Wednesday, the trough moves out to the east and most of New Zealand lies under a high. The high moves slowly eastwards on Thursday. A front, possibly with a low, is expected to move onto the South Island during Friday. At the same time, a low over the north Tasman Sea may move onto the north of the North Island. Forecast for The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head Nil warnings Monday: Variable 5 knots. Sea smooth. Partly cloudy. Northeast swell half a metre. Tuesday: Variable 5 knots. Easterly 10 knots developing for a time in the afternoon and evening. Sea slight. Partly cloudy. Fair visibility in showers from about midday.
