A cold front moves onto the far south of the South Island from the south Tasman Sea tomorrow night. On Monday, a ridge of high pressure lies over the North Island, while a front moves north over the South Island and weakens. The front continues to weaken away on Tuesday as it moves north over the North Island, while a southwest flow over the South Island turns to the northwest. During Wednesday, another ridge develops over the North Island, and a northwest flow strengthens over the South Island. The ridge over the North Island moves to the northeast on Thursday, while a front from over the Southern Ocean moves onto the South Island. Forecast issued at 1637hrs Saturday 23-Nov-2024 Valid to 8 pm Saturday for Inshore waters from Lyttelton Harbour to the Waimakariri River mouth.
