    *GALE WARNING IN FORCE*

    Wednesday : Northwest 15 knots becoming northerly 25 knots early afternoon, rising to westerly 40 knots in the evening.
    Sea becoming very rough.
    Southwest swell rising to 3 metres offshore.
    Fair visibility in showers about Stewart Island, clearing in the morning.
    Areas of fog, clearing in the afternoon.

    Outlook following 3 days:
    Thursday: Westerly 35 knots, easing to 25 knots in the evening.
    Very rough sea easing.
    Southwest swell becoming moderate.
    Friday: Westerly 25 knots, easing to 15 knots late.
    Rough sea easing.
    Moderate southwest swell.
    Saturday: Westerly 20 knots, changing northeast 10 knots late.
    Moderate southwest swell easing.
