Turning southerly 20 knots south of Tauroa point in the afternoon. Becoming southwest 20 knots but variable 10 knots in the south in the evening. Sea becoming very rough for a time. Long period southwest swell rising to 5 metres for a time. Northerly swell 2 metres, easing. Poor visibility in showers, with possible thunderstorms until evening. Outlook following 3 days: Sunday: Southwest 25 knots but westerly 15 knots south of Cape Reinga. Becoming northwest 25 knots everywhere in the afternoon. Sea becoming rough everywhere. Moderate southwest swell. Monday: Westerly 25 knots, easing to southwest 15 knots early, then to variable 10 knots later. Rough sea easing. Moderate southwest swell.
