Tomorrow, the ridge extends over the rest of the country, and the flow turns southeast over the North Island. On Tuesday a ridge of high pressure over New Zealand starts to weaken, while a front approaches from the Tasman Sea, bringing northeasterlies to the South Island. On Wednesday, the front moves onto the country. On Thursday, the front crosses New Zealand, with a northwest flow spreading over the country behind it. Forecast issued at 2238hrs Saturday 05-Jul-2025 Valid to 1 am Sunday for Inshore waters from Waitarere to Pukerua Bay and out to Kapiti Island. Sunday: Southerly 15 knots but 20 knots gusting 30 knots south of Kapiti Island. Becoming southeast 15 knots everywhere in the afternoon, then easing to variable 5 knots in the north in the evening. Sea moderate in the south, easing in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Westerly swell 1 metre dying out. Outlook until midnight Wednesday: Monday: Southeast 15 knots but variable 5 knots north of Kapiti Island, becoming southeast 10 knots everywhere in the morning. Partly cloudy.
