Monday: Southeast 25 knots, rising to 35 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera in the morning. Becoming southeast 35 knots but 45 knots in the west in the afternoon, then rising to 45 knots but 55 knots in the west in the evening. Sea becoming high in the west. West of Farewell Spit to Hawera: Long period southwest swell 2 metres easing. Southeast swell 4 metres developing. Elsewhere: Southeast swell 2 metres developing. Poor visibility in evening rain. Tuesday: Southeast 40 knots but 50 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera, easing to 30 knots everywhere in the afternoon. High sea in the west, easing. West of Farewell Spit to Hawera: Heavy southeast swell easing. Elsewhere: Moderate southeast swell easing. Wednesday: Easterly 30 knots, becoming northeast 20 knots but 30 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera early. Rough sea easing in the east. Northwest swell becoming moderate.
